How To Terminate With Your Current Waste Management Service?
If you’re switching from a waste disposal company like Waste Management, Republic Services, or Waste Connections, Haulla ensures a seamless termination process:
What is Contract Termination?
When you decide to switch to Haulla but are still under contract with another waste hauler, the first step you will need to take is to terminate that existing contract. Contract termination refers to the process of canceling your existing waste management contract with your current provider. This step is necessary if you decide to switch to Haulla.
But contract termination is not straightforward due to the following challenges:
- Legal requirement: Involves sending registered mail and direct communication with current waste hauler.
- Difficult to contact: Customers often need to locate hidden or hard-to-access contact details on hauler's website.
- Exorbitant fees:Customers may be required to pay up to six months' worth of service fees for early contract termination. This is called “liquidated damages”.
To ease this burden, Haulla takes care of all these necessary steps for you, ensuring your transition is seamless.
Contract Termination Process
1. Termination Assistant Reaches Out
After you finalize your contract with Haulla, a termination assistant from Haulla will contact you to explain the termination process in detail. This representative will be your main point of contact for any questions or concerns you may have about the process, ensuring you receive support every step of the way.
2. Haulla Confirms Termination Request
After the termination assistant explains the process in detail, they will send a termination notice on your behalf via registered mail and confirm the request directly with the previous hauler. Without Haulla, you might need to locate the Waste provider’s contact information or the correct phone number, and then wait on hold for extended periods of time, which can be time-consuming and frustrating.
Contact information for these services is often hidden in various parts of their websites, such as:
- Customer service sections
- FAQ pages
- Chatbot
This makes it difficult to find the right department. To address this issue, Haulla’s termination assistant is available to guide you throughout the process. However, due to policies set by your existing service provider, there may be situations where you may need to contact your current hauler directly. If this occurs, you may need to handle this communication personally with the guidance of our Haulla’s termination assistant.
3. Receive and Forward the Liquidated Damages Invoice to Haulla
After the termination is confirmed, you will receive a liquidated damages invoice or an email with the liquidated damages amount from your current provider. Simply forward this invoice to Haulla, and the termination assistant will then contact you to confirm the details before making the payment to your current hauler. Haulla covers any liquidated damage fees, ensuring a seamless transition. Once everything is finalized, your current hauler will remove their dumpster, and you can start using Haulla’s service.
